The 11th China (Xiangshan) Fishing Festival is to open in September, according to the news conference on the fishing festival.

　　 The theme of the festival is the fishing culture, and the activities include a ceremony of sacrifice to the sea, the ceremony of sacrifice to the Mother Goddess, and a large-scale fishing cultural cruise, to demonstrate the traditional local fishing customs.

　　 Over 150 fishermen from Taiwan will come to the festival by a charter plane, and this has been listed in the key cultural exchanging projects by State Taiwan Affairs Office and Zhejiang Taiwan Affairs. The day for the sacrifice to the sea is also the Mid-autumn Festival. So, an evening party will be jointly held by Xiangshan and East Taiwan. During the festival, 2008 Top Environment Protectors of the Sea will be released.
